FAQ's
What is your editing style?
I love using natural light and I try to keep things minimalistic and clean, with warm tones throughout. I take natural candid photos, with the occasional intentional blur. Please look at my work on here as well as my social media to decide if my style is what you are looking for.
What is your booking process like?
Once we have chatted and settled on the day and location for your dream photo shoot, your non-refundable retainer will be paid. For wedding & elopements, a contract will need to be signed. Once all of that is done, YOUR DATE IS COMPLETELY RESERVED FOR YOU!
If you have any questions throughout the process at all, I will be there to help you every step of the way!
Can we order physical prints & framed photos through you?
Yes! Of course! Ordering prints through me is easy and you will have a variety of sizes, framing and mounting options to choose from! They can be shipped directly to you to make it extra easy for you.
This is a great way to continue to support Molly Kay Photography as well. Thank you!
How does payment work?
Securing your session with me confirms that the information shared is understood and accepted. A 50% non-refundable retainer is required to secure your photography session.
For all sessions besides Wedding & Elopement, the remaining payment is invoiced 24 hours before your session (or earlier upon request).
For Weddings & Elopements, payment plans may be offered and final payment will be due 30 days prior to your special day.
What if we have to cancel or reschedule our photoshoot?
If you choose to cancel and have already put down your non-refundable deposit (including any additional payments), you have already reserved your day and no refunds will be given.
However, I know things come up and plans sometimes need to change so I do offer a rescheduling option.
For all other shoots besides Weddings & Elopements, you can reschedule up to 30 days from your original date reserved, within my availability. All prior payments made will be put towards this new date and session.
For Weddings & Elopements, you can reschedule your date up to one year (365 days) from your original date reserved, within my availability. If we are 60 days or less from your scheduled Wedding or Elopement Shoot and you are now needing to be rescheduled, a rescheduling fee might be applied. All prior payments made will be put towards this new date and session.
Do you travel / photograph destination shoots?
I am based out of Los Angeles, California and am currently traveling to states surrounding California, and of course, anywhere in California too!
I’m excited to explore and hear where you want to go!
Are travel expenses included in the package pricing?
Any photoshoot outside of the greater Los Angeles county will require an additional travel fee. Any requested location will need to be pre-approved and if it requires a fee to access (including parking, entrance fees, etc.), that will need to be discussed and paid for beforehand.
When will we get our photos?
Galleries can be expected within 2 - 4 weeks after your session. For weddings, you can plan to get a sneak peak within 48 hours with some of the highlights from the day.
All galleries come with hand edited, high resolution images.
Will we have printing rights?
Absolutely! You will receive full printing and sharing rights.
What are your Mini Sessions like?
Mini sessions will be held periodically at a set location for a budget-friendly photo shoot option!
30 minute slots ✦ 15 - 20 high resolution & edited images
STAY TUNED for Mini Session details that will be shared on social media as well as via email for those connected.
Do you offer additional hourly rates for any of your sessions?
For wedding & elopement packages, additional hourly rates are available to fit your needs on a case-by-case basis.
Do you deliver every image that was taken?
No, there are many multiples taken for each shot and part of my job is helping to determine which of those shots is the best to be shared after editing. Typically, the photos that don’t see the light of day are lesser quality duplicates, out of focus frames, those with bad lighting test shots, eyes closed, flash misfires, etc. I believe these are better left out.
Do you provide raw / unedited images?
Nope, sorry! Editing images is a part of the overall magic that is Molly Kay Photography!
